Picket, who was given this name after the incident, was found dangling from a fence that had pierced her paw and caught her mid-jump. We can only imagine how traumatizing it must have been for this poor kitty.
Some of this distress was displayed during the initial approach of two caregivers: a cat lover who saw Picket, and an officer from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, (HSPPR) who assisted them.

When Picket was approached, she was terrified, which might have complicated the rescue effort. Luckily for Picket, she was looked after by professionals, with their minds and hearts focused on her recovery.
One of Picket’s toes had to be amputated, but the veterinarian staff at HSPPR was able to save her leg. The kitty is currently recovering and waiting for a forever home.
